Copper Wire Products
NOCKERS ENGINEERING PRODUCTS has principals that specialize in the manufacture of Copper Wire for all electrical purposes.
As well as pure copper wire in various grades such as ETP, C101, OFCu and C103, NOCKERS ENGINEERING PRODUCTS supplies non-ferrous wire in a number of copper alloys:
- Brass wire: CuZn10, CuZn15, CuZn20, CuZn30, CuZn37.
- Phosphor bronze wire: CuSn5, CuSn6, CuSn8.
- Nickel silver wire: CuNi12Zn24, CuNi18Zn20.
Copper Wire Rod
Copper Wire Rod
This is produced by continuous casting and used as a raw material for wire drawing operations.
Rod conforms to ASTM B49 or other international standards.
Normal diameter: 8mm.
Supplied in coils of 3000-5000kg strapped and wrapped on pallets.
Copper Single Wire
Single wires are produced either hard drawn or annealed and are used as raw material in subsequent drawing operations to ASTM B1 or ASTM B3 or other international standards.
Single wires are also used in downstream plating operations to produce:
- Tin plated single copper wire to ASTM B33
Diameter range: 1.00 – 2.60mm
Tin layer: 25 micron thick - Nickel plated single copper wire to ASTM B355
Diameter range: 0.80 – 2.60mm
Nickel layer: 27% by weight
Bunched/Stranded Wire
Annealed single wires or Multiwire, bare, tin or nickel plated is used as inlet material for bunching and stranding operations. Wires can be formed in cross-sectional areas up to 360mm² as normal bunched, concentric strand or multi-strand rope constructions. Different pitches can be accommodated according to the final specification.
Stranded cable is either used in its bare condition or subjected to further insulation, stranding, screening and armouring processes.
Specifications: ASTM B8, ASTM B172, ASTM B173, ASTM B174, ASTM B286
Multiwire
Bare, tin or nickel plated single wires can be cold reduced and annealed from 1.00mm down to 0.05mm and then wound together onto reels with up to 24 ends.
Multiwire is used as inlet wire for subsequent bunching or stranding operations to ASTM B3 or ASTM B33.
Customers
Our customers for copper wire comprise specialised cable manufacturers that purchase for subsequent reprocessing and require consistent quality, reliability and lowest average cost of supply.
Both ongoing bulk supply quantities and spot special small quantity requirements can be accommodated.
